8/8/2023 0 Comments Waters edge at harbisonThis is very unacceptable and this apartment complex has given me the worse experience I have ever had renting. My wife has discarded clothes that have had ants in them from being in our laundry basket in the bathroom. The issue has gotten to the point where roaches travel with us on vacation and with my wife to work. The patio screen door does not even stay on track for it to close, so it serves no purpose. The bathroom door is coming apart and is difficult to close flush. The flooring behind the toilet is not secure and can be lifted to show the layers of flooring piled on top of each prior layer, also a easy way for our pest to get in. After 2 weeks in the apartment, the ceiling in the bathroom as well as in the kitchen began to come apart, leaving an expressway for ants. Not only has there been a pest issue but there was also clear signs that patch work was done to the apartment prior to our move in date. I work from home so I am able to monitor the dog food and there has been multiple instances where there are a line of ants to our Yorkies food. My wife is a neat freak and has an emotional support animal that is always in the apartment while she is at work. Needless to say we did not move our belongings into the unit. When we went into the apartment we counted at-least 25 live roaches in the apartment. The same day of the walk-through, my wife and I decided to start moving our belongings up later that evening around 7pm. Although I kept my composure during the conversation I did not appreciate the fact that the management was falling short and still trying to charge me more money for a sub-par living arrangement! Management did compensate us with a $30 laundry card to wash our clothes after my wife spoke to the property manager. Only after stating that I am a Realtor and have experience in real-estate as well did management decide that I could rent the unit for the 12 month rate of $746. C-24 I felt completely disrespected by management for attempting to charge me over $900 for the same unit with partial-upgrades(laminate flooring) and the same amount of roaches. When we returned to discuss the terms of the rental agreement for Apt. I was ensured by management that the apartment was sprayed while the appliances were out to remedy the pest issue. C-24, after walking through with management I felt more comfortable moving into that unit due to the recent repairs to the flooring which required the appliances to be removed. During the 3 months of staying in this apartment there has not been one day that I have not seen roaches in my apartment even after spraying myself.Īfter addressing this issue with management, there was an option to move into the apartment above my current unit, Apt. I was told by staff that my apartment would be bombed once in November as well as December and to remove my animal during the treatment only to come home to the same issue and still up until this day, my apartment has not been bombed. I have been given false dates for treatments on 2 occasions as well as being home for 1 treatment where Clarks Pest Control only sprayed behind the toilet and kitchen sink and left. I have spoken with multiple staff members, including the property manager about this issue and have documented each encounter regarding this issue. Up to this day, my wife and I have made now, 6, verbal complaints regarding the ant and roach infestation issue in Apt. I have discovered a disturbing amount of ants and roaches in my apartment since the beginning of my stay. Sadly we have to relocate for boyfriends job and I'm not going to find anyone to sublease for the last 3 months of the lease, and they are not even considering letting us out. The gym door has a new key pad so we can use it any time but the equipment is in terrible condition. My neighbors were asked to limit their use of moth balls not sure if they complied or if the insulation that my boyfriend installed helped but either way it has improved slightly. They have an easier to reimburse any lost funds in the laundry room and are looking to update the entire system. We have a hose again in the car wash station. Since posting this review, management has been able to address a few of my concerns with actual sincerity. According to mgmt, that is a common issue. The pests problem is only getting worse and there is a permanent aroma of moth balls throughout the entire building. The laundry machines are owned by an outside company so if u have problems with them, you call an 800 number who never resolves anything. The red clay that surrounds the parking is always a mess after the slightest rain. The apartment have poor insulation, not enough storage space, except for the walk-in closets that stay extremely cold in the winter and hot during the summer.
